Accessibility Standards

At i>clicker, we recognize the importance of meeting the needs of all students—including students with disabilities.   For information on how we address the needs of students with our hardware and software, please visit the Accessibility page <link to OUR PRODUCTS Accessibility> of our web site. We also strive to follow accessibility standards throughout this website.  

Below is a list detailing the various measures that i>clicker takes to be accessibility compliant on www.iclicker.com.

ACCESSIBILITY STANDARDS

  • All pages are designed to validate as XHTML 1.0 Strict
  • All pages use structured semantic markup. Header tags are used for titles, p tags for paragraph copy, etc.

ACCESS KEYS

  • Most browsers support jumping to specific links by typing keys defined on the web site. On Windows, press ALT + an access key; on Macintosh, press Control + an access key.
  • All access keys on this site define the main navigation menu.

NAVIGATION AIDS

  • The home page and all internal pages generally include a search box
  • A site map is made available for sites that do not utilize a search box
  • Tab-indices are set on all form elements in a descending order on the page (Search will be at the end of tab-index when paired with forms)

STANDARDS COMPLIANCE

  • All pages strive to be compliant with WCAG 2.0 priorities 1, 2 and 3
  • All pages strive to be compliant with Section 508, the U.S. Federal Government Accessibility Guidelines
  • All pages are designed to validate as XHTML 1.0 Strict
  • All pages use structured semantic markup. Header tags are used for titles, p tags for paragraph copy, etc.

LINKS

  • Many links have title attributes which describe the link in greater detail, unless the text of the link already fully describes the target (such as the headline of an article)
  • Links are written to make sense out of context. (ex. not using “click here”)

IMAGES

  • All content images used in this site include descriptive ALT attributes. Purely decorative graphics are included as background images in style sheets.
